Apache is maintained and developed by a community of developers under the supervision of the Apache Foundation. The software is available for most of the operating systems.
Since early 1996, Apache is the most popular and used web server. Also, in May of 2011, Apache was estimated to be used on 63% of all web server and running on 66% of the million busiest servers.
